The terms that govern access to Pascal.
Pascal is software that connects to your exchange account.
You retain your capital. You retain your keys. You retain control.
— § 0 · the agreement, briefly —
§ 1What Pascal is
Pascal is software that connects to your exchange account via a trade-only API key and executes strategies the architecture selects.
Pascal is not an exchange, broker, custodian, fund, investment adviser, or signal service. Pascal does not hold your capital. Pascal does not give advice. Pascal does not solicit trades on your behalf.
§ 2Eligibility
§ 3Your account · your capital · your keys
Pascal does not custody client funds. Your capital remains in your own exchange account, under your own control, with your own keys. The trade-only API key you generate grants Pascal one capability: place and manage trades on instruments Pascal supports.
The full architectural detail is in the Custody Model. That page is the authoritative statement on custody.
§ 4The licence
Pascal grants you a limited, non-exclusive, revocable, non-transferable licence to access and use the Pascal software for the duration of an active subscription, solely against your own exchange account, solely for your own trading.
You may not reverse-engineer Pascal's software, strategies, selector, or interpretation outputs. You may not resell Pascal's outputs as an advisory service. You may not redistribute Pascal's notifications, summaries, or Alexandria records.
§ 5Your obligations
§ 6The subscription
Pascal's subscription model is under review while the architecture matures (see the Subscription page). When pricing returns, billing mechanics, cancellation terms, and the paper-mode-to-live transition will be governed by this section.
During the current pre-pricing phase, Pascal is available by invitation only and no subscription fee is charged.
§ 7Intellectual property
Pascal's software, strategies, selector, governance protocols, interpretation outputs, and Alexandria records remain Pascal's property. The Pascal name, brand, and visual canon are Pascal's.
The trade history Alexandria stores on your account remains accessible to you for as long as you have an account, and you may request a complete export at any time. Nothing in these terms grants Pascal a licence to use your account data for marketing or third-party purposes.
§ 8Termination
You can end your use of Pascal at any moment by revoking the API key at your exchange. Pascal's access ends instantly. No process inside Pascal can refuse a key revocation.
You can close your Pascal account by contacting Pascal in writing. Open positions remain on your exchange under their existing stop-loss and take-profit orders; Pascal does not market-close them.
Pascal may suspend or terminate service for material breach of these terms — attempted misuse, key sharing, sanctions exposure, regulatory requirement. Pascal does not retroactively reverse executed trades.
§ 9Disclaimers
Pascal is engineered for resilience, but software has bugs. Exchanges go down. Markets do unprecedented things. Pascal does not warrant outcomes.
Pascal makes no guarantee that the service will be uninterrupted, error-free, or that any particular trade or set of trades will be profitable. Risk is addressed substantively in the Risk Disclosure.
§ 10Limitation of liability
To the maximum extent permitted by applicable law, Pascal's aggregate liability arising out of or relating to these terms is limited to the subscription fees you have paid Pascal in the twelve months preceding the event giving rise to the claim.
This limitation does not exclude liability for gross negligence, wilful misconduct, or any liability that cannot be limited under English law.
(The proportionality of this cap, given Pascal's adjacency to financial outcomes, is under counsel review as part of the v0.1 drafting cycle.)
§ 11Indemnity
You agree to indemnify Pascal for losses arising from your misuse of the service — attempting to make Pascal operate outside its design, sharing your credentials, providing a key with permissions you misrepresented.
This indemnity is narrow. Pascal does not seek a broad indemnity covering ordinary use.
§ 12Changes to these terms
Pascal may amend these terms by giving at least 30 days' notice for material changes. A change log lives at the bottom of v1.0 of this document. If you do not accept a change, you may end your subscription before the change takes effect.
§ 13Governing law & disputes
These terms are governed by the laws of England and Wales. Disputes are subject to LCIA arbitration in London, save that either party may bring proceedings for low-value claims in a competent small-claims forum.
